thanks man, I sure do love them. Makes me want to build up a set of Mavic Reflex tubbies too. Box section rims just look so damn good.

I would love a power meter like yours, that is probably going to be the next purchase

Zeb_pepperoni says:

powertaps are pretty cheap these days (compared to many other power meters).

greasethecheese says:

yeah I think I've seen Open Pro's laced to a powertap for about 900 Australian $'s for the rear wheel, wouldn't mind it at all.

Zeb_pepperoni says:

yeah, 900 really cant be beat. plus no sensors strapped to your frame!

that chubby stem plus the fact that its a system6 = stiffest bike known to man

Posted over 10 years ago

greasethecheese

greasethecheese says:

hahaha, love me some chubby stems. I don't think they made System Six stems in 130mm or else I would be running one of them instead, but the Easton is probably just as stiff anyway

Posted over 10 years ago

Zeb_pepperoni

Zeb_pepperoni says:

yeah theyre both significantly chubby! is your bottom bracket threaded?

greasethecheese

greasethecheese says:

yes, this frame not having BB30 is a bit of a shame and a blessing at the same time. It would be cool to run Hollowgrams like my Saeco but pressfit bearings are so annoying to install and you can't really beat Shimano's threaded 68mm external BB's for durability, price and ease of installation. SRAM external BB's are pretty crummy and I'm not a giant fan of their cranks either so I will either be going for a FSA SLK crank, or a Rotor one which explains the Shimano BB against the SRAM groupo

Zeb_pepperoni says:

ahh, i didnt realize they made system6's with both. but i understand, i feel a bit vulnerable with bb30. i know i can work on every part of my bike at my house, except the bottom bracket. dont have the tools, nor am i brave enough to try.

greasethecheese says:

yeah I know what you mean. Some people are game enough to smack those bearing outs with a screwdriver but I'm not one of them, especially with the tolerances in the machining for the original BB30 shells being very specific and exact. It would really suck if you eventually had a permanent creaky noise coming from your BB because of your own handy work.
