Current Stage Info:

My chainring broke (fatigue crack) so I trashed the chain, chainring, and cog. Went with purple ano and a nickel plated chain for the new kit.

Yup! It was super stretched out and the chainring/cog were wearing with it. I'd add lube every now and then but haven't wiped it off in a few years. I was curious how far it'd go. The chainring failed by fatigue as pictured, so I put on a new drivetrain.

Haha sounds like you get it. Thanks! It sounds like a rock tumbler at times but still runs fairly smoothly. I regularly lube the chain but haven't wiped it off in over 2 years.
