What chainring bolts are you running with that sugino zen/omnium combo? I have a zen ring on the way and in forums, I came through articles that said stock omnium bolts aren't compatible with zen rings

dresearch says:

You have to grind down the bolts or use slimmer ones. I used Sugino bolts on my setups.

how do you handle the overlap?
I would like to use clipless pedals on 165 mm cranks on a 52cm affinity lo pro for city use.

would that be ok to avoid serious overlap?

dresearch says:

There's too many variables to validate how much overlap you'll get, depending on your shoes, cleat placement, front tire size, etc. But I do know that you'll probably get a bit more clearance with clipless shoes because you eliminate the use of the bulky toe clips, but then again it also depends on where you place the cleats on your shoes. I haven't had any issues with overlap with this frame, but I've ridden my Mash for a very long time before that and got used to riding with overlap. It's something you just learn to ride with, my njs frames have the same amount of overlap too.
