The Rauler brand was founded by brothers Raul and Reclus Gozzi in the 1970s.
The name Rauler is said to be a mix of the first two letters of Raul and Ernesto (Colnago).
The explanation is that Rauler was originally contracted by Colnago to build frames under the "mark" of Ernesto until they each went their own way in 1974.
