Ahhh, I love these frames so much. Is the bb threading english or italian?

Posted about 12 years ago

stalag13 says:

Italian most likely. Any frame from Italy will probably have Italian threading.

I think I'd much rather have this bike than my Kagero, which sucks cause right after I got my Kagero, the next week I saw a complete on CL :( hahaha

It is indeed Italian threaded.

God damn I'm jealous. How are you going to build it up? I suggest a Campy Aero seatpost, Campy pista bb + cranks, one of the old C-Record headsets that look like this: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/374... , and definitely white bar tape and saddle. You've got a killer Campy wheelset already, so that'll be perfect. And make sure to get gumwalls! Do you know what tubing it is? It almost looks like Columbus EL/OS because the down tube gets more oval towards the bb shell.

Benson says:

Instead of white bar tape I would just match the saddle or go with brown

justskidding says:

Definitely getting a Campy Aero seat post. And as for white saddle and bar tape... well, I just would much prefer black saddle and bar tape. I already ordered a black Concor Supercorsa. Crank wise, I don't know if I will be able to afford the Campy cranks, and will most likely get the Ofmega cranks that originally came with this exact frame.

I guess no one likes white bar tape and saddles as much as I do.. Anyways, this guy: http://www.ebay.com/sch/bicicletta6655/... occasionally sells Record Pistas for really cheap (I got mine for like 150 shipped). I'm not sure if he still has any though.. he might put some more up later.

justskidding says:

I like what saddle and bar tape. It looks really good on your Bianchi! It's just that I'd prefer not have to deal with the white getting dirty and all that. You told me about him a few weeks ago. I'll keep a look out to see if he sells anymore.

Posted about 12 years ago

SillyGooseCookie

SillyGooseCookie says:

The getting dirty part does get annoying, especially with the Concor. And I knew I told someone about the ebay seller, I just couldn't remember who. Do you plan on selling your Pista Concept to help fund this?

Posted about 12 years ago

justskidding

justskidding says:

I didn't have the money to buy the frame and I really wanted it, so I offered my pops the offer of him getting to keep the Concept frameset if he would buy me this. I'm currently working in construction (which is hard as f*ck!) with him every other weekend. Most of the money will be used to fund this build, but a bit will be used to help pay for bills and such.

the tubing is actually columbus formula one, which was bianchi's proprietary tubing for pista's in the mid 80's.

Posted about 12 years ago

justskidding

justskidding says:

I was meaning to ask you what the tubing was haha. Awesome! Also, what size seat post does it take? I assume 27.2?
