'89 Merckx 10th An. Molteni re-fin

one of the first 10th A. Century framesets, refinished by CyclArt about 15 yrs. ago in THAT orange ;) Originally all 8spd Dura-Ace but now is a hodge. Still a great ride with that excellent Merckx front end geo: loves to hammer and descend.

Frame:
'89 Merckx 10th Anniv. (introduced the Century geometry which rules IMO). Reynolds 753, Campy tips. HA: 73.5, SA: 73.5, TT: 558, ST: 556, BB drop: 77

Fork/Headset:
Merckx flat crown, 57mm rake, Campy tips. Older King Grip-Nut.

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Campagnolo C-Record, 172.5mm, 135BCD, ISO. BB: Campy Chorus (~2005) 70mm x 111mm ISO.

Pedals:
Speedplay X

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
53T Campy Record, 39T QBP CNC. Wipperman Stainless, Sram 12-26 8 spd cassette

Derailleurs/Shifters:
F: Mavic 851 SSC, R: Mavic 851 SSC, shifters: Mavic/Simplex

Handlebars/Stem:
Nitto Noodle 44cm, Nitto Pearl 10

Saddle/Seatpost:
Selle Italia Flite, vintage American Classic

Brakes:
Dis-Compe/Weinmann non-aero levers, Dura-Ace 1st gen dual-pivots, Kool-Stop salmons

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
American Classic 420: 58 hub, 18 x DT bladed, AC420 aero clincher rim, Compass Cayuse Pass Extra-Leger 26mm, vintage AC QR (gold!).

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
American Classic 420: 240 hub, 24 x DT bladed, AC420 aero clincher rim, Compass Cayuse Pass Extra-Leger 26mm, vintage AC QR (gold!).

Accessories:
Elite cages

More Info:
I got the rear brake to feel good via non-aero levers and slightly drilling out the in-tube housing stops to accept a milled step-down ferrule at either end. My mearsurements indicate at least 28mm tires will fit F+R on a 19mm rim.

Revised controls & drivetrain but most importantly REMOVED MUSHY FEEL FROM THE REAR BRAKE (internal cables are pernicious!).
