what size tire are you running on those A23s / how tight is the clearance? i'm building up a set for my incoming thunderdome - all-city says the bike fits up to 25mm but since the A23s are wider i'm unsure of what to get!

25c on the rear. Haven't gone any bigger than that, although looking at the clearance I have you could comfortably move up to a 28c, maybe bigger. The wider rim doesn't affect the width of the casing, only the bead. I've recently fit a Rubino 25c to the front to lighten things up a little. These are also a better choice for the front end as the sprues on the Rando's wear the paint of the fork over time. Also worth noting, you may need a VAR bead jack to fit the Rando's to the A23's, they are the hardest combination I've mounted to date.

awesome, thanks! i actually just changed my order to h+son archetypes (but they're the same inner/outer widths, obvs). i'm still unsure of what kind of rubber i'll mount up but it's gotta be a little bigger than normal for these terrible los angeles streets (and the dying concrete of the encino velodrome).

I think you did a great job building this. I wish All-City would design a steel frame lo-pro. That'd be dope!

Thanks bro. Yeah I think that'd be cool to see, although I can't imagine how it would fit within the brand.

Very nice dude! Why did you get rid of your zen ring? I feel like that would look great with this build!

You're right it would, however I'm keeping it for a new build I'm working on.

Oh word! What do you have planned? I just built one of these frames up and have been loving it!

It isn't too far from being finished, best to wait and see! Your Thunderdome looks good man, they are excellent frames.
