This is a real beauty. How come you're selling it?

GromCake says:

Thanks! Well I've given up on selling it, I had it up on a few sites for a few weeks and got no bites at all not even interests. I hardly ride it cause i'm just not in love with the ride characteristics, and figured i might be happier with a new frame or a full new build, but it's not really worth dealing with right now. I think I'll just keep it unless someone offers a decent trade at some point or until I can save the money to get a new frame or build going then sell this without being in a rush to put the money toward a replacement project.

Looks like we were on the same boat, I didn't like how it rode either and got no bites for a long time until eventually someone wanted to trade locally. Good luck if you decide to continue trying!

My bike almost looks like yours .

The crank I, using ATM is the sugino messenger, pretty decent. I wouldn't race with it but for riding around town it's nice.

I do want a 144 BCD crank though for track.
Can't decode between the Dura-Ace 7600 or sugino 75 .. Both with Zen Chainring.

Yea, the 75's have a nostalgic value to them also.
They just have that Japanese track look to em.

Do they make em in black?

Also, have u seen the super sugino 75's?

My my... Now those are somthin'...

Hey, why are u switching to 75's?
I'm deciding between 75 or ominiums.. What do u prefer..?

GromCake says:

look way better. serviceable bb. I'm just tired of the omniums. idk omniums are a great crank especially for the money the stock gxp bb is garbage tho. but a set of omniums and a new nicer bb is still cheaper than 75s if you're being budget minded

Looked it up: That BB is the "Protype" available at Ben's cycle for $35. It gives a perfect chain line and will let your cranks last at least two or three times longer. Check it out.

I know what you mean. I like my hubs and headsets to have bearings that are serviceable. Bottom brackets though, especially square taper will wear faster if you have to remove/install each year for service. I prefer a sealed BB for that reason on my square taper cranks- even Phil Wood. There is a sealed BB unit especially made for the Sugino 75 which I installed on one of my bikes and it works very well. I don't remember who carries it, but a quick search should find it. Good luck, enjoy the bike

Nice. I used to have one and loved the ride on the track. Why Sugino 75 cranks in place of Omniums?

Posted about 10 years ago

GromCake

GromCake says:

thanks. half is me preferring the aesthetics and prestige of the 75s other half is me preferring the classic cup-and-cone over cartridge bearings, I like to be able to service my bearings easily. I do like the omniums though, they are a great value.
