Ever thought of doing a cheapo 1x8 or 1x9 conversion with a dt shifter?

Looks great now, but with that setup it would be a 11/10.

I did run this bike as a 1x8 a few years ago. It was a fun setup, though for some ridiculous reason I just really prefer my bicycles to be fixed-gear. I think there is something wrong with me.

The magic gear was a total accident... I was running a 40t chainring and it was a bit spinny, so I bought a 42t ring.

When I installed the 42t chainring, I discovered that the chain tensioner wasn't even engaging the chain because everything was so perfectly dialed in. It was an amazing moment...

I know there are calculators for finding the magic gear, though this was pure, dumb luck.
