The serial no. says it's from '89 and after sifting through some catalogs, I found out that it's the model SR500 "Black Lightning" edition. Size is perfect for me, a 56 square. Originally built with all black parts, most of them were very used. So decided to build it with a Suntour Superbe Pro groupset, which is almost complete. Paint's not in very good shape, it bubbled all over the frame, so will respray it myself.

I've being in love with this build for a while now.
I'm renovating a R600 1996 and would like to know how did you paint it. Looks like you did not remove the previous paint and just threw some spray over it. I'm planning on removing the paint, sanding, painting with primer, sanding again, painting, painting the decals and finalizing with varnish paint... what are your thoughts on that?

Hi!
The procedure you describe would be ideal, I think. I couldn't bother to remove all the og paint and then paint it all over again. In the end it worked out fine, but if I ever run into a similar project, I'd take the time to do it properly.
Hope this helps.
Agustin.
