This is a parts bin bike cobbled together from the goodwill of my friends and coworkers. Somehow it all comes together to be a surprising capable and fun to ride machine. The frameset is a model year 2020, the last year the supersix had a rim brake option. It’s maybe a size too small, but the price was free, so I couldn’t turn it down. The shifters were a gift from a customer at the bike shop. The left one is completely worn out, so it necessitated a 1x build. After banging my head against gear ratio calculator, and with the encouragement of my coworkers, I decided on a 50t chainring with an 11-36 cassette. I’ve been pleased with how versatile and tight the gearing feels overall. A massive shout out to Matt and Ryan, two friends and coworkers who supported and encouraged me with this build. This is my favourite and most ridden bike this year by a considerable margin and it’s all thanks to them.

Current Stage Info:
90% of the way to being a really good bike. The shifters are starting to feel a little worn out, so some new r8000s are in my future. Still on the wish list: new skewers, brakes, and a less bulky stem.
