I was thinking of ordering a black thomson seatpost and stem... I love it! I ride it more then my Concept. It is one of the most smooth and stiffest rides ever.

Can never go wrong with Thomson :) Thats great to hear, I REALLY want to get a Vig when I can afford it!

PandaBear says:

lol I think that toy is SICK!! lol.... I was going to put black parts on it, but I got a good deal on the white parts so I went with it. I personally like white xD... I might go with some red sugino 75's

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

Gonna tarck this out all the way!

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Yea I think I am lol.. If I get tired of the white parts tho I'll go back to black components.

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

I went through my white phase and now I just cringe when I see it lol Ironically I ended up with 2 white bikes now but frames I can deal white more than that rubs me the wrong way.
What kind of wheels you throwing on this frameset? I just noticed this guy is almost NOS!

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Yea maybe once my phase ends Ill go back lol... as far as wheels I am not sure at all.. Might try and get something cheap for now off craigslist... what do you mean NOS?

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

Get something lo profile ;)
I mean that this frame looks like its unridden.

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Yea It is new out of the box the dude never built it up so I got lucky lol... I am dying to ride it!

SillyGooseCookie

SillyGooseCookie says:

Please don't get red 75's. Any anodization besides clear, grey, and black really don't look good. I wouldn't go overboard with the matchity-match. Instead, go with silver components and white tape (or grips) and a white saddle. It's painted pretty colorfully, so less flashy parts would really look the part. However, it is your bike, so you can do whatever you want with it.

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

I am actually not going with red 75s.. because I agree it is an overkill. I am going with black 75s or black Miche Pista Advanced... I think I will eventually change my white components to black, but for now Ill stick with them.

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

+1
You already have alot of colors on the bike. Picking your color components tastefully will really make the frame pop out.

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Yea I agree with you guys. Thanks for making me rethink my options.

M-DOGG

M-DOGG says:

Don't listen to the trolls - they go around to every site and trash everyone who builds anything without lo pro rims and all black or silver components - BORING. Dude the white stuff looks cool and so would red 75s. Build it how YOU like it not how some self loathing internet trolls tell you to!

Posted about 12 years ago

M-DOGG

M-DOGG says:

also - yeah lo pro rims are the new trend but they don't look as good on thick tube frames. if you want an understated build get a steel frame - this thing looks cool with the color ;)

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Thanks M-DOGG I appreciate the love & support. I think I am going to go with black cranks after all with my white pedals and red cages. I will also keep my other white parts and add a red concord saddle and I was thinking of a white b43 wheelset as well what do you think? Excited to finish it up and take it out for a ride xD

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

M-DOGG Why u mad tho? I have my right to my own opinion and suggestions, this is a public forum. Im sorry Im not here telling ppl lol omg this is the best bike ever!!!!! Its up to him to consider suggestions. Im not telling him how to build up his bike at all.

Posted about 12 years ago

M-DOGG

M-DOGG says:

i aint mad bro I just think it's lame when anyone has a bike without lo pros and all silver/black parts trolls feel the need to ridicule it as a "tarcked up fixie" - if everyone had the same builds it would be boring. different strokes for different folks, ya dig. all in good fun ;) but come on you said the dude's bike looked like the toy LOL - he's just havin fun and it looks good!

Posted about 12 years ago

M-DOGG

M-DOGG says:

panda I think the white stem/post/bars look really good on this frame - for wheels, a rear b43 would be cool and i think medium profile silver rims with white randos would be sweet too. Or you could let the haters hate and paint your HED white like this dude: http://velospace.org/node/32572 LOL - either way have fun with it it's a sweet frame

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

thanks!..WOW!! That white HED3 looks sweet in white lol..

Posted about 12 years ago

Neilskees

Neilskees says:

Good luck with the build! Im excited to see what you do just because this frame has so many colors, black, white, blue, green, red. I mean theres so many ways you can go its not even funny, All i would suggest is a low profile wheelset!

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

Thanks! I am planning to go with the white and red theme. Cant wait to finish it and ride it xD

Your Pista is 53, I hear Cinelli 54 runs a bit bigger. I ridden a 54 and fits me nicely, wanna trade for my Raleigh?

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Yea it is a bit bigger compared to my concept, but I think it will fit me better since I am 5'9... lol I been looking for this frame for a while or else I would trade for that Beautiful Raleigh you have. BTW why are you getting rid of it?

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

I am as well 5ft9 and this frame can fit me but its just a size too small so I am looking for a 54-55 frame

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

So your Raleigh isn't a 55cm? Is it a 53cm?

Posted about 12 years ago

Benson

Benson says:

It is indeed a 53cm

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Oh okay I was thinking it was a 55cm. I personally think the 53cm fits me good, but I can definitely ride something a bit bigger so I am looking forward to this 54cm and see how it feels compared to my concept.

Posted about 12 years ago

justskidding

justskidding says:

If you have the money... Phil Wood wheelset. Low profile rims. Some nice bullhorns or track/road drops... whichever you prefer. Can't go wrong with Thomson.

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

I am a bit short on money, but I do want to save up for some white phil wood hubs. And thanks for the suggestions man I'll keep them in mind for sure.

Posted about 12 years ago

SillyGooseCookie

SillyGooseCookie says:

You need silver components, Velo Orange makes a great polished stem. This guy: http://myworld.ebay.com/bicicletta6655/... sells Campy Record Pista cranks for REALLY cheap (like 170 shipped) all of his have currently sold, but he I think he still has more. That's where I got mine. And yeah, I think it would look super classy with silver cranks, stem, seatpost, and white seat and bar tape. And definitely gumwalls :)

Posted about 12 years ago

PandaBear

PandaBear says:

Thanks I am going to check them out for sure. Yea I am between silver parts or white parts, but keep an eye out on my build ;D..... And thanks again for the great ideas I really have to envision it in my head because it is hard with so many choices lol
