Colnago Extreme Power

The Colnago Extreme Power has certainly been a firm favourite with its broad ownership. Speaking to many a rider over the years, it would most certainly be a frame that remains within the family. People are just so passionate about this frame and taking a closer look, you can begin to understand why. With its Colnago trademark of an over-engineered design and finish, you can see this frame is built for purpose. You will also note that from this frame came the outstanding creation called the EPS which was the next step in carbon frame technology from Colnago. The Extreme Power was also one of Erik Zabel's favourite Colnago frames! Now for some technical stuff - the Colnago Extreme Power has double butted composite tubing and lugs. The lugs are compression molded using a process so refined that no finish work is needed on the lugs before painting. The front triangle features triple butted oversized tubing paired with longitudinal reinforcing ribs that run along the interior of the main triangle. This technology, known as 3PRS (Power Reinforce System), stiffens the frame by over 30% with negligible weight increase.3PRS consists of 2 internal reinforcing ribs that run the length of each tube and 2 additional ribs at the ends. These ribs are butted to match the tubes. The conical down tube of the Extreme Power starts with a 38mm diameter at the head tube and flares to 44mm at the bottom bracket shell. A massive 31.6mm seat tube further boosts lateral stiffness. The CNC-machined titanium bottom bracket insert is matched to a compression molded bottom bracket shell. Over-sized 17x35mm chain stays with Colnago's 'Bay Leaf' chain stay design mate with the bottom bracket for unparallelled stiffness. Colnago's B-Stay completes the platform of this stunning frame. The Extreme Power comes with the legendary Star Carbon Forks and is made in Italy.

Thanks Chris. This is by far the stiffest frame I've ever ridden, it's crazy. But despite that, it's so comfortable. It's that amazing feel you'd expect from a Colnago. Lovin it.
