Well for track sprinting the narrower the better generally speaking. If you don't do track then I would avoid going that narrow as it won't handle well. I really like them, they work well on a df4.

There appears to be a shift towards the narrower, as the Scattos only come in 35 and 37. I wonder how important it is, as guys like Theo Bos and Hoy ran like 10 second F200s with 40cm bars back in the day.

Things have changed, no sprinter uses bars 40cm wide and many are going well below 10 seconds. Not me though :)
