Well, after building Amelia (and having a lot of fun doing it) and realizing that upgrading my '85 Schwinn World Sport to a level I had in mind was not the best idea, I set about building a fully modern road bike from the frame up. And what a frame! Dripping gloss red: sooo pretty. I did paint the seat stays and the lower front fork black to eliminate the McDonalds/"non-serious" look as well as vowed to keep the serious/fast/racy theme with black components (they were silver when it was new, and before that owner stripped the frame of everything). She came together wonderfully and I was smitten just a few minutes into the test ride. I've taken her on a good chunk of longer rides. Really a lot of fun. Now for the Seattle rain/cold seasons (3/4 of the year...) she's fendered up along with accessories/repair tools. Still looks great. UPDATE: Elena Marie (she, as a frameset) is in the hands of a new loving owner now. Her brilliant red coat will be missed, but she will give her owner many good miles. :)

21.0 lbs with no accessories. Built a bike that performs as well as bikes twice or a little more her cost. Incredibly smooth ride.
