I’ve ridden a 2017 Fuji Roubaix 1.5 for the past 7-8 years, and while it’s served me incredibly well, I decided it was time to move onto something a little nicer. I started to research building a custom bike. One of my immediate goals was I wanted a bike that matched my car, a British Racing Green mini cooper. Everything kicked into gear when I found this carbon Framed Basswood frameset brand new on FB marketplace, in my size. The basswood is a rebadged Carbonda 696, which is a gravel frame. I ride on the street and multi use paths, but I love the idea of being able to swap some wider tires on in the future, so a gravel frameset with geometry closer to an endurance bike was perfect for me. After that, I assembled the rest of the parts, including the SRAM Rival AXS Groupset with a power meter, Superteam carbon wheels, and stem, carbon seat and seatpost from AliExpress.
