GMC Denali 6061

Say what you will about pre fab bikes, but this one is pretty great. Heavy though. And Stupid friction index shifters. Other than that, extremely reliable.

It is what it is and it looks OK to me. But 6061 Alum is heavy? Maybe at that size but that also means it is robust and strong(a good thing at 61cm). Maybe an STI upgrade would help the shifting. Enjoy

You're right, I have been playing with the idea of changing the shifters, originally I bought the bike to make into a single speed, but once I rode it and how well balanced it felt, I knew I wasnt supposed to take it apart.

Ya,package bikes get a bad rap but I find that unless a part is just throw at it to save a few bucks they work well. My Trek uses lots of Bonny parts that I was gonna replace. But they work so well and won't wear out so what's the sense of replaceing them? Almost 3k miles on it since spring and it is faster than ever. My Bianchis have gotten the year off LOL.
