Schwinn Super Sport 1971

Riding down my block today and saw this bike all rusted up looking and in front of a house at the curb. I stop to look and the lady at the house said "it not for sale. I said, oh doesn't look to work, maybe I can fix it for you. She said "no, it's free. Take it." One hour later, an extra chain i had and the one 27 inch spare tire I had, and it rides great. It will get tires, touch up paint, grease, and love. It's not a Paramount, but not bad for a 1971 Schwinn with aluminum components and wheels, and a chromoly frame. Cost in 71 was $130, while Paramount was 250-350 or so. Everything is stock except the seat and bar tape. Still progressing. The paint was bad, but the touch up I did isn't much better. Two coats on the rust spots of color I made with white rust paint and some blue oil artist paint. Painted with a small brush. Looks good from a distance...
