how did you get a front derailleur mount on this?

This version of the frame is the X2, meaning that it has a braze-on front derailleur mount. I'll get rid of it soon, I promise

You could combine a shorter conical spacer (like a Slam That Stem cap) with a -17 deg stem and get a similar position without looking quite so crazy.

Or if you like it the way it is, that works too. Just ride it.

I actually tried using an FSA dustcap with the stock 17 deg stem, it didn't sit perfectly with the existing cups but something similar is definitely happening in the future. Otherwise, this stem is 5mm longer than stock, so it fits pretty well. Plus I definitely like how it looks.

Ah, yeah I've been in the same boat, the slightly-too-big cap is no fun. Cheers!
