Textima Typ Verfolger 27/24

Textima Type Pursuer 27/24 – a very special Textima model from 1990 representing the final development stage and a prototype. Firstly, because not only the seat tube but also the top tube is curved. Secondly, because the reinforcement plates were added later. What does that mean? It means that this test model was used to investigate the effect of such reinforcement plates on the bending and torsion of the frame. First, the frame was measured without plates, then the tunnel plate was added to the bottom bracket. Finally, a measurement was taken with the tunnel plate and head tube plate. The result showed that the additional plate on the head tube could not make a significant contribution to reducing the bending and torsion of the frame. There was also a comparison model that was almost identical in construction. The two frames differed only in the rear triangle. The bike shown here has a monostay and the comparison model has a classic rear triangle. The bike with the classic rear triangle has slightly better values in terms of bending than the bike with the monostay. However, by adding the plates, a stiffer frame can be constructed in comparison using the monostay.
