650b on 700c Frame

Hey all, I've really been looking into putting on 650b wheels on my bike to accommodate for larger tires and I wanted some insight before experimenting with it.

I currently have a bike that clears up to 700x28c tires but I want to run meatier tires on it. After reading up on a few articles, I found that I could do that by running 650b rims. Ideally, I would run a 650b 38-40mm tire but I'm just not sure how well it'll clear my frame. I wanted to see if anyone on this site has tried it out with success and would have any advice for me.

I just did this on a whim. It works.
The brand/geo may vary tho.

Like you said, check the clearances on your frame. I've done it on my Traitor Ruben, and it's fine. But the frame was made to handle it, since it's a cross bike. Frames that take disc brakes generally have more forgiving clearances.

Looking at the bikes in your profile, definitely go to your lbs and have them check it out for you.
