Any tips to reading a faded serial number?

(closed)
I have an older steel Yamaguchi frame but the serial number is very hard to read. Its old and the color scheme doesn't help. Any tips to reading the # without having to scratch some paint off?

What frog goat means, Bubba, is really quite useful. It is the well known and trusty trick of tracing by means of the natural contours of the surface and the application of some color on the paper.
It is very simple and straightforward, all one needs is a steady hand.
Just place the paper on the surface of the area you would like to bring to light and then hold the tracing paper in place while with the other hand make quick and subtle shading with a pencil.
A crayon would work as well, but I suggest a standard no.2 pencil.
If you can do this, and still are having trouble reading the serial number, snap a picture and post it here and let us take a look.
We're here to help, you'll never have to worry again.

Bubba, if I may ask, what size is this Yamaguchi?
