Go to the main forums page, use the search window in the top right corner. Type in ratio and ta-da! Lots of threads on that topic already.

What bread tastes the best? I mean...I'm not trying to know what bread you think tastes the best, I want you to tell me what bread I will like the best.

BTW, this bread will be used for sandwiches (I haven't figured out what kind yet).

Depends on the sandwich, but I'm a fan of Russian Rye.

my favorite bread is that 51/19 rye. but i'm always spinning some spicy mustard on my turkey/avo/jalapenojack so it's really not too bad at all. plus big breads is hella smoothhhhhhhh

When it comes to ratio, only Rapha or Cadence will do the trick.

48/17 for urban

Currently 46:15 kills it in the city. Had 49:16 and it felt a bit tall for same. I'm pretty much game for a Ruben or anything with bacon and mayo. Burgers? Sure. Hoagies? I'll mess them up. Tacos? Trompo con onion y cilantro. All dia long hombre.

46/17 DONE.

THIS THREAD IS NO OVER AND THERE ARE NO RATIONAL REASONS TO CONTINUE THIS THREAD BECAUSE THERE IS NO BEST RATIO AND RIDING A CERTAIN RATIO IS PURELY SUBJECTIVE TO THE RIDER (FOR THOSE WHO RIDE).

It was a joke, because I don't need such a ratio for the streets.

Agreed. Terrible choice for the streets. Give a 15 a go. Total game changer. I'd send you one if I had an extra. But I only got a 16t DA.

I rode between 15 and 17 for a while. 17 for spin and added cardio.

MASH SF posted a pic on instagram a while back of Rainier Schaefer lacing up 59:12 for some mountain descents. FIFTY NINE :::::: TWELVE going down a mountain.

Since we're talking gear ratio's.... If I chose to go from 48/17 to 48/15, would that be too huge of a leap, or should I gradually knock down the teeth number in the rear???

Thnx Niggz

I'd suggest gradually. I haven't done the maths on that but that's my gut feeling.
