+1 we need to know whats up

Does anyone know him personally?

I'm also interested in this, site hasn't been updated/maintained since 2017 and is experiencing some significant issues in updated browsers. The site URL is also no longer secure and the spam is also out of control on the General Discussion, needs some oversight for sure.

There's clearly something keeping the site live (someone is paying the hosting bills to Linode), but its interesting to see the site dying so quickly. Going to try and look into this and come back with an update!

He's clearly alive or someone has the ability to renew the security certificate.

Coomer if you're reading this there are tons of people still invested in this site and do not want to see it abandoned like this. I will volunteer to moderate the bots, pay any hosting costs, whatever you need help with to keep this site going and I know there are plenty of others who would do the same.

Please help us help you.

Wanted to also chime back in here with two points:

1. Completely agree that this site needs moderation and help. As someone who works from home, is on their computer (and this site) a lot, and also works in the web design/development industry, i'm totally willing to volunteer time to PedalRoom, to make sure it stays up and continues to grow - this site got me into bikes in 2012 and I haven't looked back since, so I definitely want to help, if possible.

2. After some internet deep-diving, it looks as though Coomer's company he started (with a few other people - GrassWorks), was purchased by a larger company to become "The SalesForce of Pot" in 2017. This was four days after his last sighting on PR, (Coomer chimed in on Nov 10th 2017, and his company was purchased on Nov 14th 2017).

My assumption/hope is Coomer sold his start-up for some serious cash, and is living the good life somewhere on a beach with some beer and bikes, without a care in the world. He seems like a really great dude, and I hope that he does come back to the site soon, but if not, I hope he's loving life and staying far, far away from the horrible internet.

I've got a bunch of links and shit I can drop in to support my theory if anyone is interested, its just stuff found in the first 1-2 pages of Google with some specific keyword searching, so just let me know.

Here's to keeping this thread up and Coomer coming back!

I wonder if it is worth trying to chase down Coomer's colleagues from Grassworks Digital.

The Spam is getting so bad its hard to keep this thread at the top!

I did some digging when the bots started appearing. I dont think he's dead--I think he got a real job and has had zero time to do anything hobby related. He must have renewed the security certificate but that must be all he's had time for. Im surprised he hasnt bothered to update us since he's been an active bike forum contributor since I can remember. Go check out his Github and you'll see he's been really busy since Late 2018. His last contribution was only a few days ago and most are locked. Our best bet is finding his personal email or phone number if anyone has it.

Losing all the uploaded data would suck. I also volunteer to moderate and even pay/upgrade the site.

Figured it was something like that. Never thought to check to Github, but makes sense. I thought PR was broken for good when the security certificate lapsed, but looks like Coomer has at least his little toe on the steering wheel, if nothing else.
