Is Pedal Room dead ?

(closed)
Ok, title may be a bit provocative since PR is more about its users than anything else but it seems that nothing here has been updated by the site owners since early 2016.

Does anybody have any clue of what is happening ? Has the crew abandoned the ship ?

You are concussed. This is a free website run by 1 person. Updates aren't frequent.

Why do you need an update or "revamp"?

It doesn't really need to be much more than it already is.

This website is more of a passion project than anything so it'll get put on the back burner and that's ok. I really don't have any problem with how it is now. It could probably use some more frequent moderation, but then it wouldn't be the PedalRoom we know and love

I'm actually really close to a re-launch of the site with a new backend (fully upgraded...the current software framework is outdated by several years), a responsive design, site-wide SSL, and better moderation, surfacing of bikes, etc.

I started a new job about a year ago and it's pretty amazing, but at the same time is extremely challenging and is quite the time-suck, but I've actually worked quite hard most weekends in 2017 to get the Pedal Room software updated, which will provide a good foundation for me to easily build upon, especially leveraging the knowledge I've gained in the last year at my new job.

So expect some updates in February. I'll be posting more as I get closer to rolling them out, as at least some will involve a server upgrade and possible slight downtime.

Actually, I think it may be dead. I've been trying to upload new pics of my bike for well over an hour.

@scrod try reducing the size of the image a bit. It doesn't always like uploading super high resolution images

Sorry guys, the photo issues are related to a server issue that's going to be fixed with the new server soon. Running out of resource limits.

My wife just built one up last week and will be adding it to her profile soon - that is, if she can upload the pics...

edit: pics are up!
