Lightweight Hubs

(closed)
Anyone recommend a set of track hubs (standard 120mm / 32H).

My only requirements is that it be lightweight and sealed cartridges. Price isn't a huge concern.

Probably will be laced to Open Pros or similar box section rim. Just want to build up a set of lightweight wheels.

What do you guys think of Ellipses? Heavy?

For rims, have you considered Kinlin XR200s? They aren't box section rims (more comparable to Mavic CXP22s) but their listed weight is about 390 grams. I'm currently planning on building up a set, with the front laced up to a Velocity road hub (less than 100 grams, if I remember correctly) and the rear laced up to a regular 32h Formula track hub.

i dont think you can do anything wrong with the mavics. weight is 1895 grams for a set. for hubs i would recommend the suzue pro max with sealed bearings. you can seal the dura ace 7600 hubs by yourself, if they are new.

The Mavic Ellipse is very light. If you're looking for just hubs... Victoire Cycles has the lightest hubs ever.

Damn, just checked out those Victoire hubs. I love how they offer both high and low flange options! I take it they're not available yet....or are they....

Those supersprints are insane - looks like they're discontinued. But their current rear HF hub weighs in at 274 grams w/ cog and lockring! I dig the splined too. Thanks Patrick.

Supersprint hubs are new and currently in production phase. If you want lightweight + QUALITY... any VC hub is the way to go =)
