buy a used bike on craigslist and go from there. you may not even like riding bikes, so why spend that much money.

Go buy the cheapest non-conversion on Craigslist you can find and ride it to the ground before you burn $800 on a mediocre bike you may not even enjoy riding.

dont hate on conversions, there are some very nice conversions out there. and their geometry makes more sense to be riding on the road regardless

"I don't know much about bikes" and using the "fixie" term says a lot about the quality of advice. And dude..that Dosnoventa frame is just about double his price range.

Doing the Kilo TT route and spending the rest on upgrades is one option. Another would be to hunt on Craigslist for something used and complete.

Dosnoventa's have looser geo than Kilo's, don't take advice from someone who sands their wheel apart.

No you're just a monkey.
And I'm sorry, I don't like doing that. Youve been doing that the last couple weeks. Keep going at it (;

Buy used on Craigslist. Figure out what you want in bike before you start investing a lot of capital in it.

I'd like to meet this kid in person. Akuma, you talk a lot of trash when you have distance in between. Gaurantee you wouldnt say shit if you were in the same room. I'd hazard a guess and say what little education you have is poor. Your advice is of very, very little value.

And besides saying you're retarded is fucken insult to people who actually have a disability.
I hope you rot in hell.

Get a cheap ass old road bike. Strip it down. Leave the brakes if you want. And just get a nice rear wheel with either a freewheel or fixed and start from there man.

Well the fact of the matter is that you aren't going to be able to afford a build like the ones you've been drooling over with your budget. The key is patience. Find a complete with a frame you like, and upgrade the components over time. The pickier you are the harder it's going to be.

You can get that new state aluminum bike with omniun cranks for a decent price. But iif I were u since your just getting into it go to citygrounds.com there having a bunch of sales on leaders and unknowns. You could get a bike for 800 for sure.
