Like McDonalds fries and cockroaches, threads about "brakes or no brakes" and "what is the best gear ratio" will endure long after humanity disappears.

Brakes because:
1.) I ain't got that money for tires (dolla dolla bll ya'll).
2.) Because sometimes I cannot react as fast as some cars.

Sometimes I ride with no brakes, but not if I am pushing big gears.

Yea you're right. and riding with at least a front brake makes sense, but, you look around pedal room.... and it seems.... people would rather have frontal lobe damage than have a break right?

And if you're really fixie, you can ride with no foot retention and look like a real prick, but claim it makes no difference and you prefer it that way, in which case, you just lack intelligence.

I knew a guy who did that. He also rode the slowest I've ever seen. I was like what's the point if you can't go fast? He also has a sunno))) cabinet he doesn't use and says it's earth shattering. Instead he uses a small bugera .

Yeah I know. Make fun of me for my lack of intelligence then. I do look silly you're right. Does it prevent me from using my bike? I don't just ride a bike for leisure with my rich boy friends!

I generally don't take breaks when I ride, maybe at some red lights but I don't like to fuck up my avg on Strava

Sometimes when my bike doesn't work right, I break things.
Does that answer your question?

Dullahan, please swoop that cab for me.

When I see people who ride fixed gear or free wheel without brakes at all, I just have to wonder how bad a situation can get if there is an emergency. I mean, if it's a gear ratio that makes you pedal fast to go 5 mph, then there's not much to worry. But then there's 52x15, nor brakes, ~SWEET FIXIE SKID~ people and I just think I'll find another ghost bike locked up.
