Sorry for the Absence

I messaged Coomer to see if I could help. I am by no means an expert web developer but I have a full-stack MERN certificate, I'd be happy to help in any way I can (fixing bike updates, for example)

Im going to text him one last time and see if he resurrects a second time. I thought all this downtime was him fixing the site but it doesnt seem like it.

Maybe we could come together and possibly produce a spin-off? We are all complaining but not really taking action. Maybe it’s time for a “go-fund” effort. Any thoughts???

It's alright comrades. Faith is key. Ninety nine percent of the human species are downright cave dwellers. Don't let them ruin our bit of exercitia spiritualis, don't be subsumed in their hand-to-mouth maggot existence. It is better to die on your feet than to live upon thy knees.
All ships sink in the end, fear god and avoid evil is all one can do.
I'm doing research into reincarnation to figure out just how free one can be, what is illusion and what is truth, what is thought and what is hunger.
I think it is certain that immortality is possible, it is a physical law.
Stay tuned.

Yeah, this doesn't feel good. At least the site is working again though!

The fact that the forums have gone down for maintenance is a good thing. Even if we can't see the changes, there's stuff happening on the back end. And again, we're all here by choice. We can either shit on Coomer for giving us all a free platform that we've chosen to use. Or we can go to other forums, of which there are many. And which I already look at for real answers to my questions.

At the end of the day, what are any of us really put out with? We still got our bikes, we still got our friends, and we still have a ton of other places to talk to other cyclist. That's my perspective. This is like the 4th online cycling community I've been a part of. It's good to find other places if this is your first.

What other sites are people following? I know reddit has a few subreddits, anything else?

http://www.tarckbike.com/ (although I can't this load, so maybe it bit the dust. been a while since been on there)

I always tell people here asking questions about old/esoteric stuff to go to the C&V forums on Bike Forums.

Hate to spam Pedalroom but I see that you guys over here have learned the same lesson we’ve known on 6gc.net, Coomer’s other forum, for about ten years. He’ll disappear for years until the forum crashes, show up to fix it (eventually) then make promises to stick around. I’ve been a moderator in 6gc for a few years now and the forum has crashed and I’m trying to get in touch with Coomer. If anyone here has been in contact with him (I saw one member mention texting him,) is there any way you guys could get his attention for us? Or message me with a good way to get in touch with him?

Leave him alone, man. He's on a beautiful vacation and will start tackling this stuff next week.

Wow... What shitty way to deal with things. Thanks for sharing richee3 and letting us know this is typical behavior for this person.

I get that sometimes you're gonna go "f it" and be done with whatever online hobbies you have. But what I don't get are these control freaks, who would rather see it all burn than move aside to let someone else continue to provide a well-enjoyed service. I guess they're ok with being remembered as a great disappointment to people from all corners of the world, than retire as a hall of fame originator of great things. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
