Travel Box/Bags

(closed)
Hey guys, I plan on doing some traveling in the summer and was planning on bringin my bike, but don't know what kind of box/bag to use. Does anyone have a box/bag that they could recommend me? Thanks!

Scicon makes some of the best soft and hard carriers. Sunlite also makes great case which I've used all over the world. I've thrown everything into that case... such as clothes, floor pump, and souvenirs. I also own a Cykling case and it's good, but it's so oversized that you'll be slapped with a huge fee. Freight is not bad if you don't mind dissembling most of your bike. Keep in mind, avoid hard cases that have two separate pieces... unless their hinged. Unhinged hard cases will buckle under pressure from TSA mishandling or pressure attacking the integrity of the case. At the moment, I've been using a BLAQ travel case and it's solid as a rock. 12 airports, 8 train stations in the last 6 months... it's held up beyond my expectations.

If it's a 1 time deal, do it yourself. Contact a LBS for bike boxes (they should be free), disassemble the bike, and pack it in yourself. It's a good way to transport clothing as well, since you could use them to protect your parts/frame.
