1992-92 cannondale track frameset.
56cm center to center (actual) measurement.
comes with original suntour headset and bottom bracket. Both headset and bottom bracket show some wear and a bit of patina. both should be serviced.
Frame appears to have been repainted a while ago. i dont know why it was done, but paint job was done professionally and is still great despite frame age. Green color is deep with metal flakes.

Frame has two areas where there a some paint chips as shown, but all chips are minor. Also rear chain stay has paint wear from wheel.
Overall great shape frame.
$1650
Fees and shipping extra.

When someone repaints a frame, I always wonder why. Any dents under the new paint?

No, there are no dents dings or any other issues under the paint.
Also it's a high quality repaint apparently done at a shop.
I got this at a bike swap and whoever sold it to me didn't have any history of the frame.
Maybe the owner just wanted it green, maybe it's sponsorship related repaint.

So you bought it repainted, but you know there are no surprises under the paint.

I see no dings, dents or cracks on the frame or fork.
Aluminum frames are basically irreparable, had frame sustained any structural damage a repaint would not cover that up really. Judging by frame condition I'm sure this repaint was not due to frame damage.
There are no surprises under this frame repaint.

Have purchased from object as well, pretty solid seller and stays in communication throughout the deal.

What Chuckun is getting at I believe is that potentially someone could have filled and sanded any dents before painting them and no one would be the wiser until the frame fails.

But twenty-five years down the line that could said about basically any C-track. It would definitely be a lot of work to fool people when even a dented one can go for 1k.

I understand what he is getting at, but all the repaint was done done years ago. Long Before any of the current hype for these frames started.

When the repaint was done guarantees nothing about the condition of the frame underneath. Not even if you believe hard enough.

Makes sense. Either way this specific frame does not appear to ever have been damaged. Just not original color.

I mean you are taking a risk buying a 25 year old aluminum frame in the first place, considering aluminum has such a sort fatigue life. Usually 5-10 years. I'd be more concerned about that than a dent covered up by a re-paint.

Wait hold up. 5-10 years? Where the hell are you getting this information?

5-10 years? Then I guess most aluminum frames should just be tossed in the dumpster. So if any of you guys have a CAAD10 from 2012 or before, just go ahead and take it to your nearest landfill along with all of the 90s Cannondale Tracks.
