How do you spot a fake
The printed Shimano should be smooth, not textured. The teeth should be rounded. The valleys between the teeth should be perfectly curved and not have any flat spots. The fake ones have a flat area at the bottom of the valley between the teeth. Logo is not perfect either. Spacing is very subtly off on the fakes.
