1985 Stella Veneta

I bought this bike from the first owner who even gave me a copy of the receipt! He took good care of it and kept it original except for the aero-levers which he added in the early 90's. Although made from entry-level Aelle tubing, the frame is meticulously finished, with engravings on the seatstays and fork crowns. Colour is a fantastic candy-apple red which is almost impossible to capture in pictures, unfortunately. While a bit on the heavy side, it's a great long distance tourer. The headset and downtube decals are missing and I'll recreate them in the near future. I would appreciate some high-resolution photos of these if anybody happens to have some! Other plans for future changes include a period-correct Turbo saddle, Super Record front mech to match the rear one, Veloflex tubulars, and non-aero Miche/Modolo Speedy levers with tan 919 anatomical hoods.

More Info:
The Stella Veneta brand is almost unknown outside of the Piave region, one exception being the Stockholm area, since the company AB Frabo imported Stella Venetas directly from Italy during the 80's. The brand belonged to the Michelin family from Santa Lucia di Piave, who also owned the Miche and Cicli Piave brands.
