I know it's mostly preference but why didn't you go a size down? Then you'd have a little more seatpost showing, a little longer stem, but lighter/stiffer frame and more stable steering and handling.

I always consider this whenever it's new bike time, however 56 seems to feel the best. I've purchased a size 54 pursuit frame before and even with lengthened components it still feels a little small. For reference, I am 5'11, but I have shorter legs (30" inseam). Additionally, since I've committed to 56 with my other bikes (to be added later) it makes swapping components easy.

very interesting, I'm barely taller than you but I'm all legs (32&1/2 inseam), with long arms. I always play around with bike fit and sizing stuff so makes sense!
