Do you really have your chainring on the left side, or is the image just flipped?

if the image was flipped then the word resist on the crank arm would also be backwards..the sprocket is on the left

No particular reason, but in some cases for FGFS some ppl put their sprocket on the leftside so they can be able to grind on their right side, vise versa
