Was just watching your Chrome vid and remembered my old Ciocc, Your Casati makes me miss steel. Great vid btw. Humble and modest messenger POV which is welcome these days.

PS- left this link for another Casati owner too. If you ever want to repaint and refurbish your old baby, these could help...

Thanks man. It's kinda been the Portland vibe for a long time. Enjoying it for what it is, and not making more of a production of it than the endearing shit show it is.

Also, repainting the old casati would kill it. Like, not in a good way. I know every scar, dent, and repair. It has a story that is understood just seeing it. I think that's what's so loved about worn objects. But, really, thanks for the lead. I appreciate the enthusiasm.

Oh I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have one bike (soon to be two) in the stable that are meant to take the brunt of my daily riding, rain, shine, snow. I embrace the idea that the scars and scratches are part of the wabi-sabi. The bond I had with my messenger bikes was so intuitive that I could feel one grain of sand in the chain, and the chips and scratches made it more a part of me.

I forget about that sometimes. Pretty awesome to preserve a moment like that.

Similar to the last frame I owned. Super aggressive, and allows for longer cranks. Super snappy ride.

I love how they are connected, and came into ownership in nearly identical scenarios. Gonna put the old one back together after I repair a crack. It will be a grocery getter from now on.
