Well, it wasn't for olimpic team. Polish Cycling Federation ordered several hundred of those frames for polish cycling clubs. They were replaced later by Treks T1 which are in use to this day, sometimes replaced by Dolan Pre Cursa and higher models.

I've read and heard about a few being ordered from Ellsworth for the '96 Olympics and later in greater numbers after being succesful. Olympic model?

I never heard of Ellses in 1996, just rumors about Sydney 2000, but I never saw any photos or movies with those frames.
