i ride 200+ miles a week. so long rides are fine. I race on this bike so no issues for sprints. its a beast and i love the bike... kinda want an srm though

love the frameset, especially the non ISPs.

question..is giant the only company to make 1 1/4" stems? i was going to grab this frame but found that as a huge turnoff.

tjw says:

currently they are. I heard Pro/Shimano was going to make some also.

I was a bit concerned at first, but the beefiness and stiffness is much better than a 1 1/8's stem.

MustangWolf says:

Stiffness? Are you doing track sprints? :p

But really, what 1 1/8 stems have you noticed that aren't stiff?

tjw

tjw says:

I do crits... so its kinda like track sprints.

On stems tried: Pro shimano/Deda/ FSA, 3t

... i havent had much luck.

That's good to know as I'm about to get a new road build started–mainly a climbing rig, but was looking at those stems.

What about integrated bar/stems?

tjw says:

if you can afford a intergrated handlebar/stem, do it. Much stiffer.

Yeah...effing hell...if I would (or more accurately: *could*) buy a carbon road bike right now, it would probably be a TCR Advanced. Really sick set up. My size, too!

i have ridden a lot of road bikes and the TCR advanced SL is the best bang for the money. A very light, but stable road bike. definitely would recommend it

So, the day has come: I have joined the club. I picked up an XL TCR Advanced SL today on eBay. This will be coming just in time, as I recently had a back injury that has adversely affected my ability to ride, so hopefully a larger, carbon frame will make things more bearable. For the mean time, I'll be switching over the stuff from my BMC, but my next purchase will be a 2012/13 Campy Chorus gruppo.
