Karl's Custom Banani Pista

Bought 23-3-15. DURA-ACE UPDATE: Complete DA series now. Only need dust caps/hand-sown bar tape to be complete! Custom made Banani steel frame & fork made by the Danish frame-builder Sverre Nielsen AKA "Lillebror" - "Little Brother" in english. Sverre Nielsen is the son of the famous Danish rider and frame-builder Bendt A. Nielsen - AKA "Bananen" - "The Banana" in English. It fits me like nothing i've ever ridden before... The "Banani"-family has through the late 20th century made some of the stiffest steel frames around. Frames used by various athletes in Olympic events etc. The frameset is one of the last frames made by Lillebror before their business shut down due to the progressive aluminium and carbon industry. I'm super excited to own this amazing piece of art. Certainly a keeper - A real piece of Danish bicycle history. Now equipped with a complete group of Shimano Dura-Ace. Attention to detail is everything...

Thanks a lot man! Means a great deal! I intend to - currently I'm upgrading the whole thing to Dura Ace. Headset, bb, chainset, chainring, cog, hubs, stem - and a seatpost which is the only thing i haven't found at the moment - if you like it now, you're gonna love the upgrade! :)

Are you sure that'a titanium stem? I knew the Ti version was named Krystal

Posted over 8 years ago

Karl

Karl says:

Actually i believe it's just TI-finish. The stem is probably just aluminium!
