I like the track stand very much but the bike is also tremendeously great! I think a pursuit or compact drop bar would increase the niceness :)
Well done.

Thanks! I'm constantly changing between drops and risers - feels like it fulfills its destiny better as a fun bombproof bike..

I think you're on point! And a black/black Chris King headset to go with it, too! To keep it all-american..

agreed w/ everything written here, but I'd think the money for a WoundUp would be much better spent getting the Phil Wood BB & an AARN chain ring.

w/ the WoundUp, you lose some of the orange colorway, the cool Masi script when they see ya coming, & you'd be introducing polished metal onto a bike that has none anywhere else.

Sweet bike, been thinking about building one up myself. What size is the seatpost? its the one thing i havent been able to find

Karl

Karl says:

Thanks man -glad you like it! Min came with a 27.2mm shim but without it it's a 29.8mm seatpost. Had to buy a new one - they are very rare in that size!

Also, how tall are you?

Posted almost 8 years ago

Karl

Karl says:

I'm 185cm - don't know what that is in inches. This one in 56cm is definitely the smallest I can fit. Should probably be a 57cm instead

Karl says:

Thanks alot Deluxe! :) Yeah it's the only downside in my opinion - i couldn't afford a real bullhorn so i just used my tt bar - will soon upload pictures w. changed cockpit - possibly to a Deda Magic stem and a FSA Omega drop bar - will reply when it happens ;)

Nice one,
Do you really ride this bike with the bullhorns set like that ? Looks really painful !

Posted over 9 years ago

Karl

Karl says:

Thanks a lot man!
Well normally when i'm riding longer rides i mount the extensions you can see in one of the photos - i used the handlebar when riding 95 miles this summer - with an ache though ;)
As an alternative i sometimes mount my drop bar - currently building up this profile so haven't uploaded neither my bikes nor pictures of them with the different parts on!

Thanks a lot Sebastian! I'm glad you like it - i'm currently trying to find an ISO bb so i can mount a SG75 crankset with a Zen chainring - and THEN, the bike will be complete.
