Octalink + skidding will bring problems sooner or later - use other cranks/ bb by chance..

I dunno about that, man... I ran the same cranks for several years on a 40+ hour-per-week fixed work bike. The spider cracked before the BB gave me any problems.

Yeah I'm not too sure either, you're the first person I've ever heard mention an issue with it.

Was on my messenger bike for several years (Cannondale track) and had to replace it because the crank started to have way more and more. The 'star' - mount of the crank itself was worn out. I was same as you when somebody told me then it will not work with octalink. I guess there is also a reason why it's out of production... ;-)

Thank you !! I'll take your point. The die is cast, i'll enjoy this crankset several years later and gladly accepted.

Good decision man ! I regret now not keeping the DA cranks beside for a track only bike...
