Specialized Streetstomper (1987)

My first MTB bought in 1987 and renovated in 2018 for its 30th anniversary.

Frame:
CrMo straight gauge main tubes, STR seat tube reinforcement, forged dropouts with double eyelets. Braze ons: two waterbottle mounts, rack & fender mounts, cantilever bosses, all cable guides and stops.

Fork/Headset:
TIG welded Uni-Crown CrMo blades and steerer. Shimano STX (HP-MC31) 1-1/8 threaded headset

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Crankset Shimano LX FC-M563 42/32/22T / Shimano BB-UN52

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
Shimano Deore LX FC-M563 Cranks 175mm /42-32-22T/ Shimano CN-HG41 chain / Shimano HG41-8 Speed Cassette 11-32

Derailleurs/Shifters:
Shimano Deore LX Shift Brake Lever 3x8 speed Shimano ST-M567

Handlebars/Stem:
Giant EXT, ATB Aluminium laid back handlebars / Specialized 'Duraluminium MTB-3’ stem with top hole for front brake cable routing.

Saddle/Seatpost:
Selle Italia Turbi black leather saddle - Bernard Hinault Special Edition (not pictured) / ITM Fluted 26.4mm Aluminium Seatpost. Specialized QR chrome seatpost clamp (1984)

Brakes:
Shimano LX Cantilever Brake Set, BR-M565, Black / Koolstop brake pads / M65-T aluminium brake shoe set x4 (pictured)

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Araya 26x1.5 Alloy Silver Anodised / Sanshin low flange, sealed mechanism / Specialized QR / 26x2.0 Serfas Drifter City Tire.

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Araya 26x1.5 Alloy Silver Anodised / Sanshin low flange, sealed mechanism / Specialized QR / 26x2.0 Serfas Drifter City Tire.
