It's amazing! If you're not familiar with Trek's technology, this bike hasn't something that they imported from the Domane called the IsoSpeed Decouple. The bike is made with a top tube and seat top that are not conjoined together to form one piece of carbon. They are separate tubes that intersect each other and are joined into one with an axle type bolt which passes through bearings. This allows the seat tube to flex backwards from the downward force applied to it by simply sitting on the bike and in turn absorbs a huge percentage of the vibrations that are shot straight into the rear end from the road. I'd say confidently 50-60% smoother.

Long story short, super smooth while remaining super stiff and responsive. Not too heavy, super sex-appeal.

great reply & all very true. just as worthy for you to brag about the head tube technology & brake interface, so we can all appreciate the ingenuity Trek's been making lately

I know... Carbon wheels aren't cheap and this bike seems to be unworthy of Taiwan unbranded.

I'd love to finish it off with some 2017 Dura Ace Di2 or Sram eTap.
