Valid Hoodlum

A retro-inspired urban bike we built for a customer in S.F. This bike is stiff and nimble like you wouldn't believe and the two speed kick-back hub is perfect for tackling the streets down in San Francisco.

Frame:
Custom Valid Cycles bamboo with carbon fiber lugs. Main tubes and seat stays are stained; chain stays are left natural per customer's request.

Fork/Headset:
3T Funda Pro Carbon/Cane Creek 40 headset

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Surly Mr. Whirly singlespeed 33T and BB

Pedals:
Tioga platforms

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
33T front cog, Sturmey Archer 2 speed rear

Derailleurs/Shifters:
Kick-back rear hub shifter

Handlebars/Stem:
Surly open mustache/Thomson 9cm mtn. stem

Saddle/Seatpost:
Brooks B17/Thomson 27.2mm x 250

Brakes:
Sram flat bar levers with Tecktro calipers

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Velocity Deep V Rims/Sturmey Archer hub

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Velocity Deep V Rims/Sturmey Archer 2-speed kick back hub

Accessories:
Walnut Studios hand stitched leather grips

Thanks for the comment! Most bikes take about 40 hours start to finish, this one was about that as well; but it depends on what you are doing with it. Some of our mostly carbon fiber bikes take a lot longer
