Did you have any issues with clearance when you put on the Omnium? I got the same exact bike as you, 54 cm and all, and my SRAM S300 is hitting the chain stay. Dope bike by the way.

How do you like running 47/17? I'm thinking about picking up a 44RN chainring as well.

StevenPreusser

StevenPreusser says:

I'm not sure, I'm not really one you'd want to ask about rims. I've only had a couple pairs of no name wheels, B43's, and my current Mavic Open Pros (which I love dearly). I've heard good things about H+Son rims.

PocosPeroLocos

PocosPeroLocos says:

Yea im thinkning just Mavic Open Pros or some Archetypes !

andrewyoon

andrewyoon says:

lol your seatpost height is way too low. jesus christ. you need a bigger frame.

Posted over 11 years ago

PocosPeroLocos

PocosPeroLocos says:

I think you mean smaller frame ? And the seatpost is "low" because the Omniums are 172.5 in length, but i already slammed my stem and took the top cap off the headset to get more saddle to bar drop.

Posted over 11 years ago

andrewyoon

andrewyoon says:

look at your default for your pedalroom... that bike is way to small

Posted over 11 years ago

PocosPeroLocos

PocosPeroLocos says:

I have no clue why it looks so small there but it fits well, because I'm 5'11 and i have a short inseam of 31.2 and short arms.

Posted over 11 years ago

andrewyoon

andrewyoon says:

the 54cm is too small. if you're 5"11, you should be riding a 56cm

Posted over 11 years ago

PocosPeroLocos

PocosPeroLocos says:

I wish, i tried riding 56 and my arms and inseam are just too short, I can fit most 54 its just Windsor and other bikes like Mercier always run a lot bigger than suggested so this 54 is more like a 56, but hope to get rid of this frame asap and pick something else up.

full steps on the paint job? do you use the paint stripper first on the clearcoat? or sand it and then use the paint stripper. btw very sweet bike

Posted almost 12 years ago

PocosPeroLocos

PocosPeroLocos says:

I just put the paint stripper on top of the clear coat, there's no point of having to sand it off first.

Posted almost 12 years ago

ayyeeallen

ayyeeallen says:

is it necessary to take the entire bike apart? or can i just put on the paint stripper while its assembled?

Posted almost 12 years ago

PocosPeroLocos

PocosPeroLocos says:

Its best to take the entire bike apart, because you will end up with a lot cleaner job ad you also run the risk of damaging some of your components because of the strenght of the paint stripper.

PocosPeroLocos

Thanks Man ! To strip it i just took it all apart and sprayed it done with some paint stripper and after a few minutes i just scraped off all the paint then repeated on spots were it didn't come off ass good. Then clearcoated !
