yeah if you buy everything brand new from a snobby bike shop and have no concept of the prices you can find online then i'm sure you could spend close to that much.
my bike shop a single gator skin cost $120
but his lowest sure as shit wouldnt be $1200 if thats what he truly paid for it.

just from a quick calculation, if you bought everything from lets say iminusd. which rapes you on the price of everything... you only get 2k for the whole package with everything bought individually at full retail.
unfortunately if he paid 3500 he nearly paid double retail for each single item which i would hate to be true but wouldnt be suprised...

I have receipts, guys. I've been building track bikes for 7 years and of course I buy my parts cheap & online. I have $560 just in my bb, chain, headset, cog & lockring, alone. Shit adds up quick when you buy quality Campy, carbon & njs parts. So don't hate, go for a ride & enjoy life. Good day.
