Still visit this bike from time to time. It's just such a great build.

That bike is really pretty I must say, in fact beautiful, I wish it was mine but i can't go 1,200 on it

Super build, I like the silver Thomson components. Nice contrast form most builds. How often does this guy hit the road? Or is it mostly for the track?
Posted almost 12 years ago
I have about a ten mile commute to and from the track, so that's all the street it sees.

k fine. you do have a really nice kilo tt. but thats only because most kilo tt's out there are complete shit. love the wheels. rocking at least 400-500$ of spokes haha.
Posted over 12 years ago
Haha, thanks. The wheelset ran me just 450 after everything was said and done.

Beautiful TT Pro. Seeing yours inspires me to continue building up my own.

How much does this weigh in at? Looks pretty light.
Posted over 12 years ago
Shit! That's extremely impressive. How much did this build run you?
Posted over 12 years ago
uuhhh.... It's insured for $3k. I don't quite remember what I paid, but it would retail something close to that.

Nice bike, but your wheels confuse me. I mean, it's a nice wheelset, but why get really light spokes, but rims that are on the heavier side?
Posted over 12 years ago
Aero was more of a concern. Also, the wheelset weighs in at just under 1900 grams. So its actually rather light in regards to deep section alloy rims.
Posted over 12 years ago
1900 with tires? and tubes and cog? my cf wheelset is 1492g with tires and cog
Posted over 12 years ago
Also gonna call BS on the 1500 gram chinese wheelset. Your novatec hubs will run you 500g, 44 spokes and nipples will run you 200g, even with aluminum nipples, If theyre clinchers, don't know that they are, 100g a tube, and even if you're running super sonics youre gonna be heavier than 200g a tire. That's 200g left for two deep carbon hoops. Now, I may be off on a few things, but I guarantee chinese carbon clinchers don't weigh 100 grams a pop. Also, havent even counted the cog/lockring yet.
Posted over 12 years ago
Yeah +1 on that ^ haha I don't see how you're getting only 1492g on those.
Posted over 12 years ago
Nice bike man, but that cog looks a lot bigger than a 15t in my opinion.
Posted over 12 years ago
it's on a 17t in the pic, there's a 15t on the opposite side. I'm not gonna ride 82+ gear inches on the street brakeless. I commute to and from the track, so I have a sensible gear on the flop,
Posted over 12 years ago
Ok makes sense now haha thanks. And 82 gi isn't a lot in my opinion. But I'm the kind of guy who likes riding 98 gi brakeless. ahaha. Its kinda dumb, but when people on road bikes cant keep up, its feels good. But if your using 82 gi to commute, thats like, a really solid gear. :D
Posted over 12 years ago
82 is my warm up gear for the track. The 17t cog gives me a 73 inches.
You're a jackass if you're riding 98 gear inches on the street, especially brakeless. That gear is even too high for the track, unless your chris hoy or something. Enjoy dying young,
At least tell me you wear a helmet? Even Joseph Gordon-Levitt does that.
Posted over 12 years ago
HAHA, dude no worries. I do wear a helmet, and I almost never ride my bike with 98 gear inches. I always ride my road bike, or when I go to the velodrome, I run 88 gi. And I have not had any problem with 98 gi. I'm not some gay fixie kid. But being called a jackass really makes me feel good about myself. Thanks. :)

try Fizik Microtex. I've had it for a while on my roadie and it's still good, never had to clean it too.

This really is a sweet Kilo. You race it or what? I can't stand riding on track drops.
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks. I'd like to say I do, but I haven't been to the track nearly as much as I'd like.

It's moved down a little more since the pics. My back was tight as hell from being off the bike for so long. Slowly but surely I'll slam it for you.
