Oh man ! For sure my favorite Macho Man disc !!
That's funny because I found it while looking for good macho man builds. It's my new project and I was thinking about puting camo bar tape, black components and mavic aksium disc wheels (black circle with big white letters)
Your build has the same colors as mine (in my thoughs, haha) !

DId you have any clearance issues while running the BRUCE GORDON Rock'n'Road 700x43c?

defnam says:

No clearance issues with RNR, the clearance is tight but perfectly safe with no rubbing... you might have some issues if you ride them in muddy conditions. Also while riding them on gravel you will get little stones stuck in the groves and potentially hit the frame, annoying but not really a problem

This build has been an inspiration to me. I picked up this frameset on clearance from QBP last year and have slowly been building it up. I am currently waiting on the UPS man to drop off the last batch of parts.... I will be building this weekend and im so excited. Beautiful build! Cheers!!

Thanks mate. Websites like Pedal Room and Radavist.com helped me a lot with inspiration for this build and I am so happy that I can give something back by giving other people inspiration for there projects. Enjoy building your Macho man!!! I still ride mine everyday and love it!

For your front rack, did you have to get custom extended rods to mount onto your fork brazons? Thanks

The Bruce Gordons look killer. What rims were you using and how was clearance?

Posted over 8 years ago

defnam

defnam says:

The rims are WTB i19 Frequency, which are tubeless ready. The clearance is tight but perfectly fine for dry riding, there might be some issues if you are using them in very muddy conditions.

This looks great! Any idea of the weight? Especially in its original spec. I'm building something extremely similar (including the camo bar tape), but with Rival 22.

defnam says:

Weight very much depends on wheels and tyres I have on, the lightest setup is 10.5kg, bike with WTB wheels, Bruce Gordon tyres and front rack is almost 12kg. With Easton wheels and Clement LAS tyres (which are very light) bike is just over 10.5kg
