Hi there, love your build, curious as to how much tire clearance is left after switching to 650x42? Wanting to get a 650b wheelset for my 2018 Croix De Fer and really curious as to how big I can go

Thanks, with 650x42 there's loads of space left. This might help on clearance: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/14009201/

What prompted the change from 1x? Just wanted a bigger range?

Yeah exactly, want to do some touring and thought I need some higher gears. I'm not the biggest fan of front derailleurs but seemed an easy way to get more.

Thanks a lot - the seat post was about £5 from a 90's mtb.

Thanks - I went for Berthoud 650b x 50mm. Pos you know but GB do a longer front guard that's designed for bikes with rando bags/baskets fyi.

Thanks very much. Yeah good point - think I'll manage without them then after getting soaking feet will realise they're a necessity.
