This bike has been passed down by a few different family friends, and I've had it for a long time. Unfortunately one of the previous owners really didn't take great care of it and the dope old Suntour XCD groupset got pretty trashed so I converted it to a single speed. UPDATE: I put the old rd back on with an XT thumbie, works great. Also it has become my new touring whip. Rack and a basket are all you need. (gumwalls now too).

I actually found out that there was a Taiwanese factory that made hundreds of classic steel mtb frames called Marui. Not to be confused with Maruishi. I was told that they were unsung heroes of vintage mountain bikes. Apparently they are the most likely builder of this one.
